I had wanted to pay tribute to L.M. Alcott’s Little Women for a long time, and finally inspiration struck!
I wanted to design a cover that focused on the bond between the sisters, also represented by the botanical element consisting of a single green line (starting from the March house) that unites various botanical symbols:
Meg/Oak: symbol of virtue, strength, courage, dignity, and perseverance
Jo/Alder: tree symbolizing the valiant fighter
Beth/Poppy: symbol of sleep, peace, and death
Amy/Vine: symbol of well-being, fertility, blessing
